What do you need to know before traveling to Dubai?

There are several things you should consider before traveling to Dubai:

1. Do you need a visa to travel to the UAE? : Check if you need a visa to enter UAE and if so, what the requirements are.Use Passport.Org to confirm whether you need a visa or not. It’s also best to call the embassy to double-check. Kenyan passport holders visiting the UAE require a visa. Typically for tourism purposes, all you need for the visa is a copy of your passport bio-data page, a passport photo, and visa fees which vary from agency to agency. Your e-visa should be approved within 3-4 working days.

3. Climate: Temperatures can vary significantly depending on the time of year and location. The best time to visit the UAE is between the end of October and Early April when the weather is cooler. If you do not mind extreme heat, you can visit the other months as well. 

4. Language: Dubai is very cosmopolitan with people from all over the world so most people speak English

Some of the major expenses you may incur when traveling to Dubai include airfare, accommodation, transportation, food and drinks, and activities.

Is it safe to travel to Dubai?

Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world. Seriously, you can forget your purse and still find it exactly where you left it. Don’t do this on purpose though. The country has a very low crime rate compared to many other countries in the region, and incidents of violence against tourists are almost unheard of. However, as with any travel destination, it is always important to take precautions to ensure your safety.

How do you get around Dubai?

Dubai has an effective and very affordable metro transportation system, so it’s recommended to use it if you are on a budget. For those that prefer private transfers, Ubers, Careem Apps and metered taxis are available at a pricier cost compared to the metro. You may also choose to rent a car or hire a driver to get around. Be sure to have a valid driver’s license and insurance if you plan to drive.

Doing these activities together gives you a chance to enjoy the Modern side of Dubai and then take in the natural side of Dubai. 

Start your day with a visit to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Dubai from the observation deck. It’s recommended to do it as early as you can because this area is very touristy. 

    In the afternoon, get into the adventure that is the desert dune-bashing safari. This experience is extremely thrilling as the driver navigates the desert in a 4×4. 10/10 Recommend.
